Delivering essentials to women in prison

Dr. Roland J. Hill

Updated: Aug 31, 2023

UPMI team members presented 800 essential toiletries such as hair conditioner, body wash, and soap for the women in the Julia Tutwiler Women's Prison in Wetumpka, Alabama. We had the pleasure of meeting Captain Felisha Blanding and Ms. Tenesha Williams, Program Director. In addition to presenting to the inmates much needed hygiene items, UPMI Team also presented them with the Prison Economic Reform Educational Program (PEREP) with the goal of reducing recidivism. Captain Blanding and Ms. Williams were pleased with the beautiful PEREP books as well as the curriculum outline. They are very happy that PEREP will soon be coming to Julia Tutwiler Women’s Prison.
